Who we are

Oly King
Director

Born and raised in Sonoma County, Oly’s passion for early childhood education grew from her deep roots in the community. A graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University, she holds a BA in Early Childhood Studies and began her career in 2008 at Childkind, where she quickly found her calling in nurturing young learners. Her experience spans classroom teaching and leadership roles, including serving as Director of Hidden Valley Community Preschool from 2018–2021.

As both a mother and stepmother, of both children who attended and are attending Childkind, Oly brings a thoughtful, empathetic approach to guiding children and supporting families, especially during the early years. She returned to Childkind in 2022, where her work continues to be grounded in respect, connection, and a child-centered philosophy with play-based learning.

Outside the classroom, Oly loves spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and exploring the outdoors, experiences that continually inspire her belief in the power of play, curiosity, and real-world learning.

The Strome Family
Owners

The Strome family brings a vibrant mix of cultures, interests, and energy to the Childkind community as they proudly carry on Amy McIntyre’s legacy. Vivia, originally from Los Angeles, has a passion for travel from a young age and all things food, especially sourdough baking with “Leonardough”. She speaks five languages, is currently completing her Master’s in Early Childhood Education and has enthusiasm to expand access to early quality childcare. Will, from Western Pennsylvania, is a sports enthusiast with a Masters in Sports Communication. He’s happiest on the golf course, gardening or catching a sports game with his kids. Their two children, Palmer (4) and Benicio (2), both attending Childkind, bring high energy, smiles and curiosity to everything they do. As a family, the Stromes love adventuring near and far, making memories in Sonoma County and around the world.

Childkind Preschool is a locally owned and operated early childhood education center. We are proudly registered as CHILDKIND, LLC, providing a safe, nurturing, and play-based learning environment for young children.
